English Language Centre - Pronunciation In-Person
In this session you will focus on intonation, learning how pitch movement (“the melody of language”) changes meaning and makes speech more natural. You will practise identifying and using the three main nuclear tones: fall, rise, and fall-rise. You will also explore how context affects emphasis, practising different meanings by stressing different words in the same sentence. This session builds on earlier topics, but it can also be useful on its own.
