English Language Centre - Pronunciation In-Person

In this session you will learn how sentence stress works, focusing on the difference between content words and function words. You will be introduced to the concept of “weak forms” (of common grammar words), which will help you understand native speakers of English. You will also apply these skills to an academic-style speaking task, practising how to sound more fluent and engaging when presenting ideas. This session builds on earlier topics, but it can also be useful on its own.
