You will explore why concision is important in academic writing and how overly long sentences can reduce clarity. You will practise editing sentences to remove unnecessary words, use stronger verbs, and create more effective noun phrases. The session also introduces useful techniques such as avoiding repetition, simplifying expressions, and using active voice where appropriate. By the end, you will be able to revise your own writing to communicate ideas more clearly, precisely, and efficiently.
