SPSS is a statistical package used to analyse data. Check which stats package your subject is using before attending this event. SPSS is one of the easier packages to use for beginners.
You will need to bring your own laptop. Download the data here and the handbook here.
It will save time if you can install SPSS before the workshop, or make sure that you have access using apps anywhere or the Remote Teaching Centre (note you will need Duo authentification set up to use either of these options). Instructions can be found in the handbook.
The workshop includes:
Installing SPSS off campus Inputting data Generating descriptive statistics such as mean and standard error Making graphs using SPSS This session will provide an overview of the handbook 'Introduction to SPSS' and will include demonstrations.
If you'd like to attend all of our statistics workshops, we've numbered them to advise you of the best order, but you can pick and choose which ones you'd like to attend.
This workshop will take place in the KnowHow space on the ground floor of the Sydney Jones library.
