KnowHow Academic English: Writing at University Online

These sessions aim to support your academic writing so that you can answer your assignments more effectively.  Each session will take you through the complete academic writing process – from analysing your essay questions and what they mean to finding sources for your essay to editing the final draft

Our aim is to build on your existing academic writing skills and develop your ability to express and support your ideas clearly and critically.

Each session will focus on a different aspect of effective academic writing and include small - scale practice exercises to develop your writing skills. Sessions in Semester 2 will build on and develop the work from Semester 1. The work from semester 1 will be provided should you not have been able to attend. We will make sure the work is directly relevant to what you are working on.

These classes are open to all faculties: undergraduate students, postgraduate students, research students and staff.

Each week there are two sessions which are the same so you can choose the time which suits you best.  Regular attendance is important to ensure that you get full benefit of the course. Students who attend 75% of the course will be eligible for a Certificate of Participation.
