KnowHow Academic English: Pronunciation Online

This interactive workshop looks at some of the main pronunciation challenges that second language users face. For example:

  • How to pronounce words taken from the academic word list accurately. This is a list of the most frequently used words in academia

  • When to pause naturally in a sentence (utterance) so that you do not overload the listener with information or sound robotic

  • How intonation (the rise and fall of your voice) can be used to communicate different kinds of meaning

  • How sounds change in natural speech (connected speech)

Sessions in Semester 2 are the same as those in Semester 1.
