In the Targeted Listening sessions you will listen to recordings and video on a range of academic themes and to a variety of native and non-native accents. Advice will also be given on resources you can use to further develop your Listening Skills in your own time.

This  session will focus on the theme of Ageing and cultural respect and skills practised will include listening to radio excerpts about old-age in Japan and related vocab; listen to native and non-native speakers of English; practise various listening techniques, including listening for main ideas, listening for exact words and listening for responses to interview questions.

Recordings and supplementary material will be made available after the workshops. It will not be necessary to complete any preparatory work or homework. Materials will be provided at the workshop.
