Researcher KnowHow: Introduction to bibliometrics In-Person

Aims: This session aims to provide an introduction to Bibliometrics, and how the SciVal tool can be used to provide information across an institution

Objectives:

Following the session participants will be able to:

  • Identify and be aware of common pitfalls, limitations and misconceptions around Bibliometrics
  • Navigate around the SciVal tool and know how it can be used to support research activity at the University of Liverpool
  • Use bibliometrics to showcase their work, support funding applications and help decide what to submit to a future REF exercise        

 

NB: The Bibliometrics session will be preceded by a Scopus training session, in order to familiarise the attendees with the source of the data used in SciVal.
